As you browse the web your web browser usually records the URL of each page you visit. The most recent is known as the referrer. When you leave the page you are on, it becomes the referring page as it has referred you on to the next one.

To help prevent spamming of our review queues we check the referrer in your web browser to see if your site suggestion is a result of visiting a web page at Qango. If there is no reference to Qango as the referrer or there are no referrer details at all, then you will see the error:

Some of the more common situations where referrer information may not be sent:

• Your web browser is set to not pass on referrer information.
  Temporarily change your settings to allow referrer information to be checked.



• Your browser security settings are high.
  Temporarily lower your security settings whilst suggesting your site. Increase them again immediately afterwards.



• You are using a proxy server or other filtering agent.
  Try again using a different connection or ISP.



• You have clicked on a link at another site that has passed you directly to the site suggestion script without first visiting another page a Qango.
  Start again. Visit the Qango home page and follow the category links to your site suggestion point.

There may be other situations where referrer information is not passed on.
