Why do some categories have a '@' symbol on the end?

These are called related categories.

When a topic or subject can be covered under several possible categories, we create one master category and then link to it from other parts of the category structure.

A common example of this is our Shopping and Services category.

There are many sites that cover the popular subject of music.

You may expect such sites to be listed under the Entertainment > Music, however, if the main focus of the site is to sell music products or services, then it belongs in the Shopping and Services category. That is where we list sites that sell things.

In the Entertainment > Music category we have a related category called Shopping and Services@. When clicked, it leads directly to Shopping and Services > Music.

We use this same system to add category relationships throughout our directory to ensure that people looking for sites related to a particular subject get to the correct part of our category structure.

Without the related categories we would have sites listed in a wide variety of locations that covered the same subject matter, which would add a great deal of confusion when using the directory.
